Seattle Filipino content creators and signed SMG models Vanessa Camille and Nicholas Chang recently tied the knot at Turtle Bay in Oahu, Hawaii. Their joyous union wasn’t just a celebration of their love, but also a delightful melange of Hawaii, Japanese, Chinese, and predominantly their shared Filipino cultures, with each tradition contributing to the tapestry of their vibrant wedding day.

The couple went to great lengths to infuse their celebration with Filipino essence. They engaged Filipino vendors and incorporated modern renditions of cherished Filipino wedding traditions, including a butterfly release symbolizing new beginnings and good fortune, and a lively money dance to wish prosperity to the newlyweds. The menu included Hawaiian delicacies alongside Filipino festive favorites like lechon and ube rolls.

Particular attention was paid to their wedding attire, as Vanessa and Nicholas aimed to support local Filipino American vendors. Vanessa’s exquisite wedding dress was a custom creation by Seychelle Willmouth and the Silviyana team based in the Pacific Northwest. This team designed an inclusive Filipiniana dress especially for Vanessa, featuring a long tiered skirt and butterfly sleeve, with a veil to match. Crafted for plus-size fashion with an eco-conscious approach, the dress was made from organic pina fabric, exuding timeless Filipino elegance.

But the style showcase didn’t stop there. For their second look, Nick wore a traditional Barong by Nobel Creations and Vanessa slipped into another masterpiece, this time crafted by Fil-Am inclusive celebrity designer, Jenine Nerecina of Nerecina Couture. This custom-made jumpsuit was a showstopper, intricately beaded and impeccably tailored, highlighting modern Filipino couture and making Vanessa shine even brighter on her special day. With each carefully chosen element, the couple's wedding became a heartfelt tribute to their shared Filipino heritage, beautifully woven into every moment of their celebration.
